The story of Shoptopus began with an unusual request. A client approached us who wanted to sell meat products online. As an obviously time-sensitive business, the client needed a feature to ensure that each item could only be purchased within a specific timeframe.

We began to test all the well-known open-source platforms but we quickly grew frustrated with the limitations, bottlenecks, and the tangled mess of plugins and modules even the best systems required.

It felt like trying to patch a leaky ship instead of building something truly seaworthy. That’s when we thought, “There must be a better way to build e-commerce!”
